Camden’s Charity Polo Cup returns April 25 with a new name and a new spring tradition. Formerly known as the Camden Horse & Hound Charity Polo Cup, the event now rides forward under its new official name: the Hickory Top Polo Classic.
Set for Saturday, April 25, the Polo Classic also marks its first year as a stand-alone spring event, having previously been part of the Camden Horse & Hound Weekend.
This positive transition allows both events to flourish independently, Horse & Hound in the autumn and the Hickory Top Polo Classic in the spring. While now distinct on the calendar, the Polo Classic continues to enjoy the enthusiastic support of the Camden Horse & Hound organizers, reflecting a shared commitment to celebrating Camden’s rich equestrian heritage.
The match takes place at the historic Camden Polo Field, recognized as the second oldest polo field in the United States, where generations of players and spectators have gathered on its storied turf.
With its new name comes a stronger connection to its purpose. The Hickory Top Polo Classic benefits Hickory Top Farm, a nonprofit dedicated to changing lives through Therapeutic Horsemanship, Equine-Assisted Learning, and Equine-Assisted Therapy programs.
“This new chapter gives the event a clearer identity and room to grow,” said Amanda Malanuk, Executive Director at Hickory Top Farm. “We’re proud of its history and excited for its future as a signature spring event for Camden.”
